Hollywood thinks God is Funny

Writers for the new TV series “Royal Pains” think it’s funny to insult those of us who believe, worship and honor God. In the show’s premier episode the two lead actors enter a high society party and joke about how our God would like to be there… “If he could get in” (they laugh).  I wonder if the next episode will attempt to poke fun at Allah or Budah perhaps? More than that, I wonder how Muslims, the press, ACLU or other liberal causes will react to such (so called) humor. Why is Christianity such an easy target?

In the movie, “New in Town” the lead actress is asked whether or not she has found Jesus. Her hysterical response is that she was unaware that he was lost. Ha, ha, ha. Is this the best that these writers can come up with? Are they so hard up for good content that they have to stoop to ridiculous and offensive comments to fill the pages of their scripts?

Is it not true that nearly 90% of the US population is Christian? If so, I have to wonder why so many tolerate such abrasive comments about their most highly regarded deity? Hollywood continues to mock the very core of their faith and they say nothing. Where are the protests, the emails and the headlines? Did we not just see a major tiff over a cartoon that depicted Sotomayor as a pinata? CNN ran the story, as did other major news networks. As most “Latino’s” are Catholic, or at least Christian, why have they not come out against hollywood for their continuous and blatant attacks on the God they worship? Where are the protests?

Do we not live in a country blessed by God? He is the foundation of our faith, our way of life and Constitution. It is in “God We Trust”. We are “One Nation, Under God”. We owe God more than this.
